Inverters and power conversion products perform different jobs in compatible NZ low-voltage systems. Compare DC-to-AC inverters, DC-DC chargers and voltage converters, matching the required input, output and load before selecting a device.
Inverters provide an AC output from a compatible DC source. Compare continuous output, any documented surge capability and waveform with the equipment manufacturer requirement. Pure sinewave and modified sinewave products are not automatically interchangeable, and an inverter power rating does not establish how long a battery will run the connected appliance.
A DC-DC charger controls charging of a supported battery from another power source. Check the input range, charge profile and battery technology before use. This function is different from simply reducing or increasing voltage for a device, so a charger should not be selected as a generic regulated supply without explicit documentation.
Voltage converters provide specified outputs from supported input ranges. Compare current capacity, isolation where relevant and connection requirements with the intended equipment. A converter that has the correct nominal output voltage still needs adequate capacity and the correct output arrangement; it is not necessarily a complete networking or PoE power system.
Assess continuous and starting loads, then compare the power source and device limits. The battery, protection and cabling must be designed for the system. Check connector and polarity requirements, and use a competent installer for high-current equipment rather than relying on the category text as wiring instructions.
Confirm whether the listing is a complete inverter, a charger, a converter or a spare part. Generator and wind-equipment spares are also present in the wider assortment and do not provide a complete conversion system. Read mounting, cooling and environment instructions for the particular product.
Digitech: Digitech is the recorded vendor for inverter and DC-DC charger listings. Some accessories explicitly name Rovin and are distinguished from complete units.
Powertech: Powertech listings include voltage converters, a modified-sinewave inverter and equipment spares. Choose the actual device function before comparing ratings.
Rovin: Rovin is explicitly named on an inverter remote-control accessory. It needs a compatible host inverter.
Tycon Power: Tycon Power provides voltage regulators and networking-oriented DC-DC converters. Confirm the supported output and connection standard.
Ubiquiti: Ubiquiti has a DC-DC power-supply listing for compatible equipment. Check the host-system requirement.
Victron: Victron is represented by sinewave inverters and a DC-DC charger. These have different purposes and product-specific system requirements.
