How to Choose a Smartwatch

GPS vs No GPS

Built-in GPS is essential for runners and cyclists who want accurate distance and route tracking without carrying a phone. If you primarily use your watch for notifications and daily health tracking, a non-GPS model will be lighter and offer longer battery life.

Battery Life

Smartwatch battery life ranges from 1-2 days for feature-rich models to 14+ days for watches that prioritise longevity over always-on displays. Consider how often you're willing to charge and whether wireless charging matters to you.

Compatibility and Ecosystem

Most smartwatches work with both Android and iOS, but some features may be limited depending on your phone's operating system. Samsung Galaxy Watch works best with Android, while some health features on other brands may vary by platform - check compatibility before buying.
