Lighting control and timers cover different switching and adjustment tasks for compatible NZ installations. The current Control/Automation collection contains an interval timer module, a fan speed controller and a mains dimmer, with distinct supply and load requirements.
An interval timer module can provide programmed switching within a compatible system. Check its supply voltage, output arrangement and documented load limits, along with the enclosure and installation requirements. A module is not a finished mains timer socket, and its inclusion in a lighting collection does not establish compatibility with every lighting circuit.
A fan speed controller must be suitable for the particular fan and motor type. Compare the manufacturer load requirements and controller rating before ordering, rather than selecting only by a wattage headline. A fan controller is not a universal lamp dimmer, and incompatible loads can require a different control method.
Identify whether the task involves a fan, a dimmable lamp or a timed low-voltage system. The products perform different functions and cannot be substituted solely because they have a switch or rotary control. Check the exact load type accepted by the manufacturer, including minimum and maximum limits where specified.
Keep a low-voltage timer module separate from mains-connected control equipment. Check the required supply, wiring enclosure and mounting dimensions in the product documentation. Fixed mains electrical work must be carried out appropriately; do not use an exposed module as a ready-to-use household switch.
For the mains dimmer in the wider range, confirm lamp and driver compatibility rather than assuming any LED can be dimmed. For interval timing, review the programming range and how the module behaves after loss of power. Consider access to controls once installed and whether the selected function suits the actual equipment.
Digitech: Digitech is the recorded vendor for the fan speed controller and mains dimmer listings. These are separate load-control products whose accepted loads must be checked individually.
Powertech: Powertech is the recorded vendor for the low-voltage programmable interval timer module. Its system requirements differ from the mains control products.
