Solar power products need to be selected as compatible parts of a complete charging setup. NZ shoppers can compare portable panels, battery-oriented folding panels, charge controllers and mounting accessories, with electrical limits checked before combining components.
Portable solar panels

Match the connected equipment input
Portable panels offer different output formats, rated powers and carrying arrangements. Compare open-circuit voltage, connector and supported power-station or charger input requirements where documented. A panel wattage is a rated value under specified conditions, not a promise of continuous output, and a folding panel is not automatically a complete stored-power system.
Battery-oriented folding panels and blankets need a compatible controller and battery configuration. Read whether a regulator is supplied and what battery types are supported. Consider deployed dimensions and a suitable mounting position, while recognising that shade, orientation and weather affect output. Do not connect parts solely because their plugs fit.
MPPT and PWM controllers are different charging approaches. Match the supported battery voltage and chemistry, PV input-voltage limit and current rating to the planned array. Check any monitoring accessory or remote-display compatibility. A controller listing does not provide the panels, battery, protection and cabling required for a complete installation.
Compare all panel and controller electrical specifications, including limits that can be affected by temperature and array configuration. Use the manufacturer design guidance and a competent installer for the intended system. Do not use a nominal 12V label as evidence that every panel and battery can be directly connected.
Placement and supporting parts
Plan panel exposure, mounting, cable routing and access for inspection. Check the environmental ratings of connectors and separate supplies as well as the panel itself. Select mounting brackets for the actual panel and surface, and keep hobby modules and solar showers separate from electrical charging equipment.
