Diving & Snorkelling

Diving and snorkelling gear should be chosen for the activity, fit and documented operating limits. This NZ collection includes fins, masks, exposure protection and dive accessories, with named brands established from individual product records where the vendor field is generic.

Fins and water movement

Match the fin to your diving style

Freediving fins and other fin formats serve different uses. Check foot-pocket sizing, blade format and whether the listing needs a separate boot or strap. Consider the user experience and intended activity rather than choosing on length alone, and confirm that the purchased product is a complete pair rather than a replacement component.

Gloves and exposure protection

Choose fit and thickness together

Neoprene gloves and other exposure products vary in thickness, sizing and construction. Choose around fit, movement and the intended water conditions, using the product documentation to establish its purpose. Gloves do not replace training or protection planning, and thickness alone does not promise a particular safe time in cold water.

Dive tools and carrying accessories

Check purpose and secure carriage

Dive knives, catch bags and carrying accessories need to suit the task and the rest of the equipment. Compare sheath, strap and attachment details before ordering. A tool designed for a particular collection or cutting task should be used according to its instructions, with local permissions and activity requirements established separately.

How to Choose Diving & Snorkelling Gear

System compatibility

Check mask fit, corrective-lens compatibility, fin straps and regulator or buoyancy-equipment connections individually. A spare part is not a complete system. For life-support equipment, use suitable training and professional assessment; do not select or assemble a diving system solely from a category description.

Documented limits

Read the actual depth, environment and service requirements of the chosen product. Do not infer a depth rating from a waterproof title or appearance. Rinse, inspect and service gear according to its instructions, and confirm any missing technical information before relying on equipment underwater.
