In July 1994 Powderfinger released their debut album ˜Parables For Wooden Ears™. Produced by the late and legendary Australian producer Tony Cohen, who provides the expansive sound of the album; and recorded at Metropolis Studios in Melbourne in February of 1994 “ it includes the singles ˜Tail™, ˜Save Your Skin™ and ˜Grave Concern™. While the Powderfinger sound would subsequently evolve over subsequent albums and the band would go on to become one of the most-loved, critically-adored and highest-selling Australian artists of a generation “ ˜Parables For Wooden Ears™ stands proud as an important phase in the development of their trademark sound. Now 30 years on, the album is again given its time in the spotlight, with a limited edition pressing on 180-gram vinyl (the first time available singularly available in this format). Mastered especially for vinyl, with only 1,994 individually hand-numbered copies made (in parallel with the year the album was recorded and released) at Suitcase Records in the bands home city of Brisbane “ this edition of the album is presented in a beautiful gatefold sleeve, with full lyrics and pressed on ˜Saffron Yellow™ vinyl.
