Together, Rod Stewart and The Faces made a formidable team with their boisterous brand of rock. The 1972 US tour brought A Nod is as Good as a Wink... to American audiences, but also gave Rod’s solo career a worthy Stateside platform too. Their appearance at Oakland’s Alameda County Coliseum Arena on August 30, 1972, for broadcast on KMPX-FM, contains the onstage banter, trademark licks and goodtime vibe that followed the band to their eventual demise two years later.
