The AL-CAT6W Lightning Protector provides superior lightning and surge protection with improved frequency response for both indoor and outdoor 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet networks. The design uses high frequency transmission line layout techniques to maintain an optimum 100 ohms balanced impedance in the signal path. These techniques and the use of Ultra-Low Capacitance Protection Arrays provide superior high frequency response and improved return loss for the data pairs. In addition, the unit is compatible with 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices. Integral to the design is protection for the two Ethernet data pairs and the PoE DC power feed.
